Recycled Onesie
Who doesn't love Onesies?
Garter Stich Blanket
Everyday I learn more and more about knitting. I am obsessed with yarn, colors, patters....well you get it. Who needs TV anymore?
They say that "Practice makes perfect" by the time I finish this baby blanket I should be a Flippin' Master in Garter Stitch.

Another Summer Goody...
Issy absolutely loves the trampoline, especially with the sprinklers on. Being the great Mother that I am I decided to give it a go and show Issy all of my awesome moves from "back in the day".
There were none.
It had been waaaay to long since I had been on a trampoline. Your body just isn't as capable of moving the way you want it to move anymore. Not at all like I remember anyway. Sad. My legs were so sore, my arms were sore...and the rear...ohhh boy....lets just say that I am extremely out of shape!
To top it all of, Brandon (No folks, he is not at all competitive) decided to jump on and show me a thing or too. Ha! My stomach has been sore for days. Good Times!

Kindergarten at Last!
I woke up early to make her heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes, fruit and pack her a lunch. She couldnt wait to put on that huge backpack and wear her new Hannah Montana clothes. We did the "Meet and Greet" Tuesday night which was so nice because she knew exactly where her class was and had already met a couple of classmates "she would like to make friends with".
Her favorite activity was the treasure hunt they did in class-she didn't find the treasure, but she found a parrot!
She has begged me to make her lunch for school because she was unsure about what kind of food they would serve. Today happened to be pizza day(her fav)- She told us that if she had know the did pizza, she would have had lunch there!!! Ha!
lLst but not least, she reported that she got a "blue plate today", which means she gets two gold stars for good behavior. When their chart is full of gold stars, the the kids get to pick out a prize from the treasure chest! Issy said that she does not want yellow or red plates because you don't get a star with those. Why didn't I think of doing something like that?
My goodness she is a riot!

Knitting for Beginers by YouTube!
I have always wanted to learn how to knit. I've always loved the way knitted blankets and baby clothes looked. They always seemed more special and way more valuable than regular gifts...well you can imagine! I thought I appreciated the work then, but I was so wrong. Its as much work, patience and planning as I thought times 1000. I love it, and I am so excited to get started on a few projects this fall.
In case you were wondering.....
No, I don't know anyone that knits, if you are my friend and you know how to knit...curse you! (Just kidding! I still love you) I have spent hours watching YouTube videos and reading knitting books and "reading" knitting patterns in order to figure out how to knit stitch and purl. Oh my goodness it was extremely frustrating at times, but I am not one to give up easily and eventually....eventually...the never ending stitches really do start coming together. Hallelujah!!!
I started my very first scarf this past weekend in a garter stitch pattern and I am really proud of myself for how good it looks considering the unconventional way I learned how to do it.
My only regret is not learning before Jackson or Issy were born. Oh well...sweaters for Xmas!!!
I will be dreaming of yarn...beautiful organic cotton.
