15 Months

I am such a big boy! Look what I can say....
"Hi!"
"Momma"
"Daaadda"
"Buppy" aka Puppy
"Oooh" and Oh-oh!
"Yummmm"
"Go" but I what I really mean is Let's go!

My favorite toys are my blocks, an awesome ball set I got for my birthday, and my little cars. I also love to dance. As soon as I hear music my hands start swigging from side to side. Recently Sissy taught me how to bend my knees while I dance too...it’s so fun! I love my dog Sandy, and although I do love teasing her, I am learning to be really nice to her because she loves me too.

I could not nap without my "kickers" (aka blankets). I have two, one that was given to me by my cool aunt Nat, and the second one that was given to me by my cousins Carlos, Edgar and Vanne. I point to them when I am ready for my naps.

I have ten big boy teeth now…including 3 molars, which is a good thing because I am such a good eater! Today, Mommy gave me cinnamon toast crunch cereal with soy milk for the first time ever! I loved it!

I really don’t like to ride in the car for a long time. I get bored and I start crying. What I really want to be doing is walking around and play outside like a big boy.

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I really like the theme song for Phineas and Ferb on the Disney Channel. My favorite book is Oh! David! My favorite page is the one that says P.U.!!! I laugh everything Mommy reads it to me.

My sister is my best friend and I love her sooo much. I follow her around everywhere! She is really kind and patient with me so I am so thankful to have her.

Okay, time for a nap…BESOS!

T-ball practice #2

I am too tired to write anything tonight, but I just had to say that Issy's practice went extremely well today. We dropped Jax off at Grandma's so that we could show Issy our support. Honestly, I just couldn’t be prouder of my little Issy. The weather went back to its chilly self-the adults froze while the kids seemed unaffected by the cold, harsh wind. Practice started at 6 pm. I was freezing and it felt like we had already been there for a good 45 minutes, when I pulled out my cell phone to see that only 8 minutes had passed….Ha! I got in my car, drove home, to get a second layer for Issy and I.

Brrr.

I did take a few pictures , but I will have to post them later.

Good Night.

Spring is here and so is T-ball!

Hello Sun! You are welcome to shine through my windows anytime! It is way too easy to fall in love with the 71 degree days we have been getting teased with. Today I got to reintroduce my feet to my flip flops, and I am happy to report that once again they are a match made in foot heaven.

Besides obsessing over how beautiful the day had turned out, today was also Issy's first T-ball practice. She has been claiming for the last two years that this is what she wants to do. Last night we took her to a sporting good store and proud Daddy helped her select all of the right gear. Truth be told, Issy got her athleticism from my side of the family. We play with our hearts, but our hand eye coordination is just downright sad. I am hoping that unlike me, Issy will just outgrow this awkward stage. Issy is the ONLY girl on her team. Its t-ball so go figure right? Anyway, she wouldn’t run at practice, she claims that she didn’t know all the rules, already after one practice she wants to quit.
I have always had strong feelings about letting our kids to quit (anything). I feel like by letting her quit we are sending the wrong message and anytime something gets tough we are okay with her just giving up. Sounds good right? Yeah, because now that we are going through this, I feel like it’s easier said than done. I think for now, we are going to make her go to a couple more practices and hope today was just an off day.

Brandon promised to teach her the basic rules of the game before the next practice. I am hoping that building her confidence is the answer.

Aaah....no one said being a parent was easy!

Shamrock Brooch

I was trying to find a fun and “professional” way to celebrate St. Patty’s Day this year. It was only this morning that I realized that St. Patty's day lands right smack in the middle of the week.

For this project you will need:

  • A sheet of green felt (or a 4x4 scrap square for one shamrock brooch) - .29 cents

  • Shimmer fabric to match

  • Hot glue gun and sticks

  • brooch pins - I got a pack of 12 for $.97 cents.

The toughest part was coming up with the shamrock shape. Once I had the shape down, I used the pattern to cut the felt out. I overlapped the felt with a glittery sheer green fabric. Once finished, the green shimmer fabric gives the brooch a more 3-D effect. To tie the two fabrics together, I stiched the stem shape within the shamrock out of green stitching thread. Super Easy!

Once the stitching was complete, I cut the sheer fabric to match the felt. I would recomend using small scissors here.

I bought a pack of 12 brooch pins at the frabric store for $0.97 cents. Once the shamrock itself is complete, you just have to hot glue it to the brooch pin. I used some matching felt to cover up the stitching in the back.

Ta-da!

Felt Hair Clips!

I know that sometimes I am a little slow to catch up, but when I do watch out!
Issy absolutely HATES, (and I am not exacggerating here) getting her hair brushed, let alone done in any acceptable manner. By the time its time to get her off to school, we are both on the verge of tears. So...today, I decided to try something new and while blog surfing, I came across a blog I had never visited before called A Hoot and A Holler. One of the things that immediately caught my attention are these super cute felt hair clips!

I didn't have much felt on hand nor did I have any of the mini pom pom circles, so I improvised a little by replacing the middle of the flower with a simple button. I have seen other people use pearls, charms...you name it. Here is my version of a Hoot and a Holler Hand Made Stocking Stuffer-Flower Clip Tutorial.

Issy loved it the clip and I can actually see her wearing it. If this works, I am totally buying all of the felt I can get my hands on and making enough clips for every outfit! Halleluia!!!

Idaho Steelheads

We finally made it to our first Idaho Steelheads game last night. Obviously I thought going to a hockey game would be fun, but I was really suprised by how much I actually enjoyed the experience. The game is fast paced, but there is really nothing like a good brawl here and there to keep you on your toes.

Our friends Josh and Ashley caught a T-shirt during the half time t-shirt toss.

Being in good company always helps...after the game we laughed and talked our way through our drinks and appetizers.

We will defiantly be going to another
game soon. We had a blast!
